A Prediction
Much like the state of audio production today is largely based on sampling, the future of video games (and whatever may be beyond that) will be in sampling reality.
Based on the assumption that the closer video games get to reality, the more we focus on what’s in-human about the characters, the jump to reality will be in sampling reality itself.
