I made this tonight because I think it’s more how game flow charts should look. When you’re following a game you’re always thinking in terms of “lead by 5, down by 3” terms. I don’t think momentum is illustrated as well in traditional line charts.

I imagine that when movies first came out, part of what made them magical was the transformation of everyday scenes into stunning, grand, visual spectacles that eliminated things that weren’t part of the desired mood. This is a cool blog where this guy recreates movie stills during his travels to the best of his ability.

When Google Glasses come out and you’re able to Instagram your existence in real time, that’ll be pretty neat. And narcissistic.

in basketball, if you are athletically outmatched, it’s hard to shake an opponent. their dominance is total and smothering. in soccer, to a reasonable extent, you can use guile and misdirection to create space for yourself, using an opponent’s momentum against them. to put it one way, as an experience, basketball is much about AAAHH and WOOWWW moments, soccer about ah ha! and haaaaaaaa! moments.

Very pleased to present my magnum opus. Some DVD liner notes -

- That Hannah Montanna at #23 never aired because, apparently, they got a lot of facts about diabetes wrong. It was eventually reedited into another episode.

- That Too Close to Comfort at #17 is absolutely insane. I had never heard of the show either. Apparently it was built around Ted Knight, so much so that later it was renamed The Ted Knight Show. In this episode Monroe, who from what I can gather is something of a goofball, gets raped by two women. The whole thing is played for laughs. Watch the whole thing here. It’s unreal.

- What’s with the Blossom studio audience laughing at the watier’s joke in #13?

- At one point I asked an intern to help track down the Moesha where Moehsa loses her virginity, and he thought I was trying to play a prank like getting him to hunt snipe or check out the pool on the roof.

- Clips I read about but couldn’t track down - a Taxi about animal abuse, a Head of the Class learning disabilities, a Silver Spoons about teen pregnancy, and a Roundhouse about gang violence.
